The Phillies Harmony Fan Club is devoted to both adults and children with special needs, their families, friends and supporters. The program focuses on fun, participation and inclusion. Phillies Harmony Fan Club workouts use the fundamentals and rules of baseball as a means to encourage physical fitness and the development of fine and gross motor skills through enjoyable exercise and physical activities.
The program is coordinated by the Phillies and a certified adapted physical education teacher and trainer who travels to multiple sites to conduct workouts and special events. Workouts include a "Meet and Greet" with the trainer and staff, stretching, learning stations for batting, catching and throwing and finally a rewarding and fun game. Each site hosts special events throughout the year, which have been comprised of carnivals, block parties, holiday dinners and much more. The Phillie Phanatic, Phillies Ballgirls and even Phillies players/coaches have also been known to make surprise appearances at the events.
The Phillies Harmony Fan Club visits the following sites: Easter Seals of Southeastern PA, Devereux, Variety and COMHAR.
