Like many baseball fans, Rays ace David Price used to play baseball video games. Like many baseball video gamers, he would create his own players. And like many player-creators, he would endow his creations with prodigious talent and strength. And, Price tweeted on Friday, there is in fact a current MLB player who resembles his beastly brainchildren:
I used to create players on every sports game that looked like @giancarlo818 ...that's why we (the rays) call him "create a player"

This is brilliant: a digital-era nickname that perfectly expresses its meaning in a short, easy-to-say, well-known phrase. I really hope this catches on, and will add an interesting dimension to the first meetup between David Price and Giancarlo "Create a Player" Stanton in 2013.
