Prospect Coulter homers in third straight game

Clint Coulter, the Brewers' No. 12 prospect, hit a homer on Friday, giving him three consecutive games with a home run. It wasn't enough to lead Class A Wisconsin to a victory, however, as Cedar Rapids defeated the Timber Rattlers, 10-5.
Coulter finished the game 2-for-3 with two walks. The home run was his eighth of the season.
The Brewers selected Coulter with the 27th overall pick in the 2012 First-Year Player Draft. Nagged by injuries during his first full professional season, he struggled during stints with both Wisconsin and Helena in the Pioneer League. In 70 games last year, he hit .244 with seven home runs.
This season, however, Coulter is flourishing at the plate. Just 31 games into the season, he has already passed his home run total from last year and is hitting .311. He leads the Midwest League in home runs, slugging percentage (.623) and OPS (1.066).
Because he has stayed healthy so far, Coulter has also been able to get some much-needed experience behind the plate. After catching just 49 games in 2013, he has already caught 19 games this season.
