MILWAUKEE -- Brewers Minor Leaguer Will West faced further discipline Tuesday after multiple violations of the Minor League Drug Prevention and Treatment Program, Major League Baseball announced.
West, a left-handed pitcher who signed with the Brewers as a non-drafted free agent in June 2011, was already in the midst of a 50-game suspension that was levied in August following a second test for a drug of abuse. On Tuesday, MLB announced that West would be suspended an additional 100 games without pay after testing positive for an amphetamine, as well as a third positive test for a drug of abuse.
West is currently on the roster of the Brewers' Rookie-level Arizona League club. In parts of three professional seasons, he has a 5.98 ERA in 29 games, 20 starts.
