Brewers Community Foundation 50/50 Raffle proceeds reach $1 million in gross revenue for 2013

MILWAUKEE – Brewers Community Foundation (BCF) will reach a significant milestone today by when it eclipses the $1 million mark in gross revenue raised from the 2013 BCF 50/50 Raffle. This milestone was achieved earlier than ever, beating last year’s record set on July 16. In 2011, the $1 million mark wasn’t reached until August 18.
Half of the proceeds from the Raffle fund grants to nonprofit organizations that provide quality programming focusing on health, education, recreation and basic needs.
“In addition to generating needed funding for community-based organizations, we have been able to provide more than 80 fans per year with significant monetary prizes," said Cecelia Gore, Executive Director of Brewers Community Foundation. "Whether fans have been winners or purchased tickets on behalf of the community, it is clear that people enjoy the 50/50 Raffle. The resources generated have made a difference to many children and their families throughout Milwaukee and Wisconsin.”
The largest take home prize from this season was nearly $30,000, which occurred on Opening Day.
Now in its fourth season, tickets for the BCF 50/50 Raffle are sold for just $2 throughout Miller Park from the time gates open during every Brewers home game. For each game, half of the net proceeds are given to a lucky fan and the other half benefit Brewers Community Foundation. Some of the non-profit programs previously supported by the Foundation include Arts at Large, Beckum Stapleton Little League, Boys & Girls Club, COA, Felix Mantilla Little League, Girl Scouts of Milwaukee, Hunger Task Force, Habitat for Humanity, Make-a-Wish, Sojourner Truth House, Susan G. Komen, UPAF, United Way, YMCA, and YWCA.
Through Brewers Community Foundation, Mark and Debbie Attanasio continue their pledge to have the Milwaukee Brewers serve as leaders in the community. The BCF 50/50 raffle provides one of many opportunities to make a difference. Brewers Community Foundation harnesses the pride, passion and commitment of Brewers fans, players and other supporters to positively impact the lives of children and their families in Greater Milwaukee and Wisconsin.
Brewers Community Foundation, Inc. is the official charitable arm of the Milwaukee Brewers.
