Braun, Gomez take Dodgers deep
By Ken Gurnick / MLB.com
Braun said he likes Capuano, calling him "a good dude" and "a great teammate." They've known each other since Braun's first Spring Training in 2006."He knows we're friends," said Capuano. "I don't want anybody getting hurt. We had been working him inside, that one went a little further." Brooks Conrad greeted reliever Matt Guerrier with a home run leading off the seventh inning. It was Guerrier's first exhibition appearance since March 11, having been sidelined by a sore back. Up next, Dodgers: Cy Young winner Clayton Kershaw will make his final tuneup for Opening Day when he faces the Arizona Diamondbacks and Ian Kennedy at Salt River Fields on Saturday at 1:10 p.m. PT. It will be Kershaw's fifth start this spring, all on the road. Likely relievers include Javy Guerra and Jamey Wright.
Up next, Brewers: The Brewers will hit the road for an early game against the Padres on Saturday in Peoria, Ariz., with Tim Stauffer throwing his first pitch at 2:05 p.m. CT and Chris Narveson on the mound for Milwaukee. The Brewers hope to get first baseman Mat Gamel back in the lineup after he was scratched Friday with a virus. Gamel leads the Brewers with four Cactus League home runs and has looked agile at first base, where he is replacing Prince Fielder.
