Lopez sits out finale with sore hamstring
Macha calls infielder's removal from lineup precautionary

"I talked to the trainer about Lopez, and I think we're just going to give him a day off today," manager Ken Macha said. "But he'll be able to pinch-hit and things like that."
Right fielder Corey Hart took Lopez's spot at the top of the order. Replacing Lopez at second base was Casey McGehee. Third baseman Bill Hall and shortstop J.J. Hardy joined first baseman Prince Fielder in rounding out the infield.
Lopez suffered right hamstring tightness Tuesday night and was taken out in the eighth. The recently acquired leadoff hitter said the injury happened when he ran home on a Ryan Braun grounder in the fifth. Lopez was out on the play, adding the hamstring was just a little tight.
With the Brewers off Thursday, Lopez will get even more time to recover, if necessary.
"Just a little bit of treatment," Lopez said. "I have [Wednesday] and [Thursday] off to come back Friday."
Macha admitted that had Wednesday been a night game, he would've waited longer to make a decision regarding Lopez's starting possibility. Even so, the manager wrote out two lineups -- one with Lopez in, the other out -- before deciding to rest Lopez.
Lopez has five hits and has reached base six times in his first eight at-bats with the Brewers since being acquired by club from the Diamondbacks on Sunday.
"Maybe being on base five times the other day wore him out," Macha joked. "I don't want him to be afraid to get on five times."
