This year marks the 80th Major League Baseball All-Star Game, which will be held on Tuesday, July 14 at Busch Stadium in St. Louis.
One of the highlights for the Vote Brewers campaign is an opportunity for fans at brewers.com. One lucky fan will win a night in Ryan Braun's suite at Miller Park, complete with meet and greet with Braun before the game. Full details are available at the website..
Fans are encouraged to vote early and often via paper ballot at Miller Park at the All-Star District set up during Brewers home games along the first base concourse. In-park balloting at Miller Park continues through Sunday, June 14, comprising 25 home dates. The Vote Brewers campaign features event staff decked out at home games in promotional t-shirts, and signage throughout the ballpark. In addition, promotional spots are airing on FS Wisconsin and NewsRadio 620 WTMJ, and the World Famous Klement's Racing Sausages have helped distribute voting information around the city.
With every ten ballots turned in to the All-Star Polling District, fans will receive one raffle ticket that will enter them in a drawing for the opportunity to win a collector's item daily, ranging from game-used memorabilia to player autographs. A drawing will be held during every home game through June 14 and the winning ticket will be announced during the game. Rules will be available at the Polling District.
In 2008, the impact of the "Vote Brewers!" campaign was heard and seen throughout Major League Baseball. Braun was voted to the game with the third-highest vote total of anyone in Major League Baseball with 3,835,890 votes. He also became the first Brewers outfielder to be selected by fan balloting. Additionally, Hart was named to the National League All-Star team via the Monster All-Star Final Vote.
The 2009 American League and National League All-Star Teams will be unveiled on Sunday, July 5th on the 2009 MLB All-Star Game Selection Show on TBS. Both the National League and American League teams will have eight fan-elected starters. The pitchers and reserves for both will be determined through a combination of "Player Ballot" choices and selections made by the two All-Star managers - American League manager Joe Maddon of the Tampa Bay Rays and National League manager Charlie Manuel of the Philadelphia Phillies.
Fans can vote for the Major League All-Stars online at brewers.com through Thursday, July 2 at 10:59 CT.
