Rockies activate Roy Oswalt, Drew Pomeranz from 15-day DL
Both Pitchers Will be Available Tonight at San Diego
DENVER - The Colorado Rockies announced today that the club has activated right-handed pitcher Roy Oswalt (left hamstring strain) and left-handed pitcher Drew Pomeranz (left bicep tendonitis) from the 15-day disabled list. Both players with be available for tonight's Rockies at Padres game at PETCO Park (8:10 p.m. MDT).
Oswalt, 36, made one rehab appearance at Rookie-Level Grand Junction on September 3rd, tossing 5.2 scoreless innings vs. Ogden. The veteran has made four starts in the Majors for the Rockies this season, going 0-4 with a 7.64 ERA (17.2 ip, 15 er). A three-time All-Star, Oswalt is 163-100 with a 3.32 ERA (2230.2 ip, 822 er) in 360 career games/339 career starts with Houston (2001-2010), Philadelphia (2010-11), Texas (2012) and Colorado (2013).
Pomeranz, 24, has made four starts over two stints with the Rockies after beginning the year at Triple-A Colorado Springs. Pomeranz is 0-4 with an 8.10 ERA (16.2 ip, 15 er) in his four starts in the Majors this season. The left-hander went 8-1 with a 4.20 ERA (85.2 ip, 40 er) with 33 walks and 96 strikeouts over 15 starts at Triple-A this season. The Ole Miss product has made 30 career Major League starts, all with Colorado, and has gone 4-14 with a 5.40 ERA (131.2 ip, 79 er), 69 walks and 109 strikeouts.
The Rockies currently have 38 players on the 40-man roster.
