The Colorado Rockies announced today that the club has selected the contract of right-handed pitcher Rob Scahill to the Major League roster. Scahill spent the entire 2012 season at Triple-A Colorado Springs. He will be in uniform and available for today’s Rockies at Braves game at Turner Field (10:10 a.m. MDT).

Scahill, 25, will be looking to make his Major League debut with his first appearance. The 6-foot-2 right-hander was a member of the Triple-A Sky Sox rotation for all of 2012, going 9-11 with a 5.68 ERA (152.0 ip, 96 er), 74 walks and 159 strikeouts in 29 starts. His 152.0 innings pitched and 159 strikeouts were both the most on the team. He finished third in the Pacific Coast League in strikeouts. Originally drafted by Colorado in the eighth round of the 2009 First-Year Player Draft out of Bradley University, Scahill has struck out 403 batters in 468.2 innings pitched in his three full seasons in the Minors. He was a non-roster invite to Major League Spring Training in 2012.

The Rockies have a full 40-man roster.
