Gomez fuels offense as Brewers drop Royals
Center fielder homers, doubles, drives in two and scores two

PHOENIX -- Carlos Gomez hit a go-ahead, two-run home run in a four-run second inning, and the Brewers beat the Royals, 7-5, on Sunday in a game that featured five of the six players involved in December's trade for Zack Greinke.
Only Greinke, sidelined with a cracked rib, didn't play in the first of two spring meetings between the teams. Center fielder Lorenzo Cain and shortstop Alcides Escobar started for the Royals and reliever Jeremy Jeffress pitched in relief. Yuniesky Betancourt started at shortstop for the Brewers before leaving with a tight quadriceps. Cain and Escobar each went 1-for-3, and Escobar hit an inside-the-park home run, but the Brewers took control of the game with five runs over the first two innings against Kansas City starter Kyle Davies, who surrendered eight hits. Milwaukee's Casey McGehee, Jeremy Reed and Wil Nieves drove in a run apiece before Gomez connected for a two-run homer in the second inning that snapped a 3-3 tie.2010 Spring Training - Milwaukee Brewers
