Braun's back tightens up
Brewers slugger exits vs. Astros afer sixth-inning swing
MILWAUKEE -- Milwaukee left fielder Ryan Braun left Monday's game against the Astros after experiencing a relapse in the rib-cage injury that recently caused him to miss a week's worth of games.
Braun struck out swinging against Doug Brocail in the sixth, and Gabe Kapler took Braun's place defensively in the seventh. The 2007 Rookie of the Year left Milwaukee's game on Aug. 9 with tightness of the muscles around the back of his rib cage, and sat out before pinch-hitting on Saturday and starting the next two contests.
"I'll see how he feels tomorrow, but this is something that I'm not really interested in playing around with," Brewers manager Ned Yost said, insisting the ailment is not a strain, but merely tightness. " I'm not going to sit and go through this every night."
