ATLANTA -- There's a reason the Brewers feel supremely confident with their current rotation.

Less than 24 hours after Jeff Suppan held the Braves scoreless for seven innings, CC Sabathia followed the same path and pitched 8 1/3 strong innings, affording the Brewers an opportunity for a three-game sweep on Sunday.

And here's the best part for the Brewers: They can now turn to one of the best No. 2 starters in the Majors, Ben Sheets. He'll pitch the series finale Sunday against Braves right-hander Jorge Campillo.

"We feel that comfortable with all our guys, and that's the beauty about it," catcher Jason Kendall said. "In my mind, we've got five aces and an unbelievable bullpen. I might be a little biased, but anybody that's out there at any given time, we feel good about our chances."

After Saturday's win, the Brewers have now won nine straight on the road, which ties a franchise record. They have a chance to make history Sunday if they can beat Campillo, who has already victimized the Brewers twice this season. He is 2-0 with a 2.25 ERA (3 ER in 12 IP) and 12 strikeouts against them.

A day after jumping on Chuck James for six runs in the first three innings, the Brewers were baffled early by Braves rookie Charlie Morton, who retired 15 in a row at one point. But their slumbering offense finally woke up in time to give Sheets a legitimate shot for a much-needed sweep in the series finale Sunday.

Sheets hasn't been sharp lately, and he had perhaps his worst start of the season against the Cubs on Tuesday, when he tied a season high by allowing 11 hits and six runs.

Since he last won, on July 4 against the Pirates, Sheets is 0-2 with a 5.01 ERA, and opponents are batting .312 against him. But all signs point to a turnaround Sunday.

Sheets tossed a complete-game four-hitter against Atlanta on June 23, allowing one run and striking out seven. It was just a continuation of his dominance over the Braves, as he improved to 9-3 with a 4.39 ERA in 12 career starts against them.

Pitching matchup
MIL: RHP Ben Sheets (10-4, 3.14 ERA)
Sheets and the Brewers were stunned by the Cubs in his last outing. Sheets started back-to-back with Sabathia in a 1-2 punch that Milwaukee hoped would knock Chicago out of their four-game series, but instead the Brewers aces dropped two straight and dug a hole for the club. Sheets started out strong, allowing just one run in the first five innings, but gave up seven straight hits to lead off the sixth on his way to a game-changing five-run inning. He only notched one out in the inning before being pulled and ended up taking the loss as the Cubs' Carlos Zambrano was brilliant, shutting out the Brewers for eight innings.

ATL: RHP Jorge Campillo (5-4, 2.76 ERA)
Campillo scattered two runs and seven hits over seven strong innings Tuesday against the Cardinals, but did not factor into the decision after the Braves' bullpen allowed six runs in the eighth and ninth innings. Campillo was staked to a 2-1 lead in the sixth before allowing a solo homer to Albert Pujols, who took advantage of a hanging breaking ball over the inside half of the plate. Campillo's schedule was a little off for this start after having his previous outing, on Sunday against the Phillies, stopped after 1 2/3 innings and a near two-hour rain delay.

Tidbits
The 1973 Brewers also won nine consecutive road games, on June 8-17. ... Prince Fielder's two-homer game was his third multihomer game of the season and the 11th of his career. He has now homered in four straight games. ... Corey Hart snapped an 0-for-13 hitless streak with a bunt single in the seventh inning.
