Mariners at the plate: Outfielder Mike Morse tacked on three more hits to his productive spring: a single in the fifth, run-scoring double in the seventh that tied the game, and a run-scoring single during a four-run eighth-inning rally. Morse leads the team with 15 hits. Wladimir Balentien doubled home Miguel Cairo with the first run in the decisive eighth inning.

Brewers at the plate: Designated hitter Joe Dillon snapped a scoreless tie with a one-out single to center field in the sixth inning. Dillon's second hit of the game scored Gabe Gross, who was on second base with a one-out double. Veteran catcher Jason Kendall and center fielder Tony Gwynn Jr. each had two hits.

Mariners on the mound: Carlos Silva scattered seven singles over five scoreless innings. The right-hander yielded three singles in the third inning, but escaped unscathed. Left-handed reliever Arthur Rhodes, making his first appearance since last spring, pitched a perfect inning, retiring all three batters on groundouts.

Brewers on the mound: Right-handed starter Carl Villanueva continued his solid spring, holding the Mariners to two hits over four shutout innings. He has now pitched nine innings and surrendered just one earned run. Chris Capuano struggled again, allowing six hits and five runs (all unearned) in 3 2/3 innings.

Cactus League records: Mariners 7-8, Brewers 9-6.

Up next: The Brewers will evaluate left fielder Ryan Braun before deciding whether to send him to Tucson for Thursday's game against the Diamondbacks. Braun, who was scratched from Wednesday's starting lineup because of tightness in his right Achilles tendon, was hitting .333 through his first 11 Spring Training games and led the Brewers with three home runs and nine RBIs. Right-hander Jeff Suppan is scheduled to get the start for Milwaukee against Arizona for four innings or 65 pitches. Suppan will be followed by left-handers Chris Narveson and Brian Shouse.
