Brewers sign Shouse to one-year deal
Left-handed reliever worked a career-high 73 games in 2007
The Milwaukee Brewers signed left-handed reliever Brian Shouse to a one-year, $2 million contract on Wednesday, thus avoiding arbitration.
Shouse was 1-1 with a 3.02 ERA in a career-high 73 games last season, his second in Milwaukee.
The Brewers have four players remaining who are arbitration-eligible. They include pitchers Dave Bush, Chris Capuano and Claudio Vargas and shortstop J.J. Hardy.
