PHOENIX -- The Milwaukee Brewers optioned right-handed pitcher Mike Adams to Triple A Nashville and placed right-hander Ben Sheets on the 15-Day Disabled List, retroactive to March 24, it was announced today by Brewers Executive Vice President and General Manager Doug Melvin.
Adams, 27, did not record a decision and posted a 2.25 ERA in four Spring Training appearances. Last season, Adams began the season with Milwaukee going 0-1 with a 2.70 ERA and one save in 13 games before he was optioned to Nashville on May 27. He went 3-4 with two saves alongside a 5.75 ERA in 26 outings for the Sounds.
Sheets, 27, was placed on the disabled list with a right posterior shoulder strain. He made two starts this spring going 0-1 with a 27.00 ERA. He will be eligible to come off the disabled list on April 8.
The Brewers currently have 28 players in Major League camp, including three non-roster invitees.
