
Motte's story is a remarkable one. He was drafted as a catcher and converted to pitching in the Minors. Two years ago he got about a one-week audition as the club's closer but was quickly shuttled out of the role. Now, even if he's not officially anointed as such, he's back in the job, despite having fewer than 400 professional innings pitched to his name.
