Los Angeles Dodgers Foundation Team 42 Scholars

The Los Angeles Dodgers Foundation in 2012 committed to an additional 4 year $150,000 annual scholarship fund - the Los Angeles Dodgers "Team 42" Scholarship Program ("Team 42") - in honor of the legendary Dodger Jackie Robinson who wore #42. As a tribute to the life and legacy of Jackie who on April 15, 1947 became the first African American to break the color barrier in Major League Baseball, the scholarships are awarded annually to students in the greater Los Angeles area attending a four-year college or university. The program represents the Dodgers' largest commitment to scholarships for higher education to date, and is yet another example of how the Los Angeles Dodgers Foundation continues to provide educational support for area youth.

Dodgers Mathletics

In May 2013, the Los Angeles Dodgers Foundation launched a new program, Dodgers Mathletics, a fun and engaging educational workbook for students to enhance and practice their math skills. Dodgers Mathletics promotes the importance of math to students in the first through eighth grade by offering a workbook filled with Dodger baseball related math exercises. The program consists of three different workbooks geared towards 1st-2nd, 3rd-5th and 6th-8th grades. This program is free to all schools. In its first year, the Los Angeles Dodgers Foundation selected a group of eleven schools located in the nearby Dodger community for participation. Students who complete the workbook correctly will earn two ticket vouchers to a Dodger home game.
