The Kansas City Royals and Royals Charities are supporting relief efforts for those affected by the tornado outbreak across the Midwest and southern United States, including communities on both sides of the state line, in late February and early March.
Royals Charities has contributed $10,000 each to the Kansas City chapter of the American Red Cross and Heart to Heart International, a medical relief and development organization based in Olathe, Kan., for a total contribution of $20,000.
The Red Cross is providing a number of services, including emergency shelters and meal service for both victims and volunteers helping in the recovery efforts. Heart to Heart provides hygiene care kits to victims and offers tetanus shots and related medical care in areas where health care is not readily available.
Fans can support the relief efforts by texting "HEART" to 27722 to donate $10 to Heart to Heart International or by texting "REDCROSS" to 90999 to donate $10 to the American Red Cross Disaster Relief.
The Royals are committed to helping in the ongoing recovery effort. Check back here for updates and information on ways that you can help. Thank you.
